Press & Media
We're happy to be a source. Numbers, anecdotes, an on-record quote, a connection to a couple, planner, photographer or caterer — usually within the same day, often within the hour.
The founder
Sanjeev founded Baraat after watching three friends try to plan their weddings on tools designed for Western single-day celebrations — and fail. South Asian weddings are programmes, not events: multi-day, multi-tradition, multi-dietary, multi-generational. The data model most planning tools use simply doesn't fit.
Baraat is the UK's first dedicated planning platform for the diaspora — a curated vendor directory, a multi-event budget tracker, tradition-aware checklists, RSVP capture for parallel functions, and a wedding website builder built for Mehndi-Sangeet-Anand-Karaj-Reception rather than Reception-Cake-Speech-Cake.
He's available for quotes on UK wedding economics, diaspora cultural practice, vendor industry trends, dietary/catering logistics, multi-day timelines, and how British Asian couples now approach planning differently from their parents' generation.
