Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using baraat.app. By accessing or using Baraat, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. About Baraat
Baraat is an online wedding planning platform for couples planning South Asian weddings, together with a curated directory through which couples can connect with wedding vendors. We do not ourselves provide wedding services, act as an agent, or enter into contracts between couples and vendors.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit an enquiry. By using Baraat, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Couple accounts
Couples may create a free planning account to access the wedding workspace, checklist, budget tracker, shortlist, guest list, and RSVP tools. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your account credentials secure.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- The accuracy of the information you provide, including guest dietary data.
Guest data entered into your workspace (names, dietary requirements, RSVP responses) is your responsibility. You must obtain appropriate consent from guests before entering their personal data into the platform.
4. Vendor listings
Vendor listings are curated by Baraat. Listing on Baraat is currently free during our launch period. We reserve the right to:
- Decline any vendor application without giving a reason.
- Remove or suspend a listing that breaches these terms or our quality standards.
- Introduce paid listing tiers in future, with reasonable notice to existing vendors.
Vendors are responsible for the accuracy of their listing content, including pricing, location, availability, and service descriptions. Misleading content may result in immediate removal.
5. Vendor enquiries
When a couple submits an enquiry to a vendor through Baraat, we forward the couple's contact details and message to the vendor by email. Baraat is not a party to any contract, agreement, or transaction between a couple and a vendor. We accept no liability for:
- A vendor's failure to respond to or fulfil an enquiry.
- The quality or outcome of any vendor's services.
- Disputes arising between couples and vendors.
6. Payments and refunds
Some Baraat features are paid. All prices are shown in the currency you selected during signup and are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Couple plans are sold as a one-time purchase; vendor portal access is sold as a recurring subscription. You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from your billing settings.
Refunds: if a paid feature does not work substantially as described and we cannot resolve the issue, contact us at hello@baraat.app for a refund request. Nothing in these terms reduces any non-waivable refund right you have under your local consumer protection law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Baraat for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the platform without our permission.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or another user's account.
- Upload or transmit malware, spam, or any harmful content.
- Use the platform to harass, impersonate, or harm others.
- Interfere with the platform's normal operation.
8. Intellectual property
All content on Baraat — including text, logos, design, and code — is owned by or licensed to Baraat and is protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
By submitting content to Baraat (such as vendor photos or descriptions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content to operate and promote the platform.
9. Third-party services
Baraat integrates with third-party services (authentication, email, database, payments, analytics). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.
Links on Baraat to external websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for the content or practices of those sites.
10. Disclaimers
Baraat is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Vendor listings are curated but we do not independently verify every claim made by vendors.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Baraat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including (without limitation) loss of revenue, loss of data, or the cost of substitute services.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms shall not exceed the amount (if any) you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to Baraat at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, without liability to you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of Baraat after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms reduces the protections you have under mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection law in your country of residence.
15. Contact
